Each teaspoon contains:
Psyllium (Plantago ovata) husk	1945 mg
Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) flower bud	6 mg
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) root	52 mg
Inulin	36 mg
Hibiscus sabdariffa	414 mg
Inulin extracted from chicory root is an excellent prebiotic to increase the bifidobacteria population in the colon, which contributes to human health in many ways.
Also contains: Stevia rebaudiana leaf.

Suggested Use

Adults (19+): Take 1 teaspoon twice daily. For each gram of psyllium, take with 30 ml of liquid (water, milk, fruit juice, or similar aqueous beverage). Drink immediately and maintain adequate fluid intake. Effects observed 12–24 hours after the first dose; results may take 2–3 days. Take 2 hours before or after taking other medications. Avoid long-term use and consult a health-care practitioner for use beyond 6 weeks. Also take 1–2 capsules of enteric-coated Acidophilus Ultra each day.
Our Acidophilus Ultra capsule is protected by an enteric coating. The capsule must survive stomach acids and be delivered to the small intestine in order to work. The beneficial activity of acidophilus capsules without an enteric coating is destroyed in the stomach by stomach acids.

Enriched psyllium husk is an excellent source of fibre. It purifies and decontaminates, and is 100% natural. Psyllium is a bulk-forming laxative and is high in both fibre and mucilage; psyllium seeds contain 10–30% mucilage. The laxative properties of psyllium are due to the swelling of the husk when it comes in contact with water; this forms a gelatinous mass that keeps feces hydrated and soft, provided it is taken with sufficient water. The resulting bulk stimulates a reflex contraction of the walls of the bowel, followed by emptying.
